Growing, Growing, Growing...

I read somewhere that babies could grow up to 1 cm a day.  After looking back at photos of Wesley, I am a believer!  He seems to change daily getting cuter and cuter with more and more personality.

Playing with Daddy and loving it!!! (7 weeks)

I have to give special thanks to Uncle Carter and Aunt Betsy.  They should recognize almost every outfit that Wesley is wearing in these photos!  Hand-me-downs are a wonderful thing and they definitely stocked Wesley's closet!  We have bought or been given several outfits but the majority of his little wardrobe has been worn by his cousins, Preston and Luke!  They have good taste!  Thank you again!

My First "Real" Bath

Chris and I had been giving Wesley "sponge baths" for the first 7 weeks.  We probably should've taken to the big tub a bit sooner but I think I was the one that was nervous for the larger venue.  Turns out he did just fine and he certainly doesn't mind the time in the water.  We just hope this translates to the really big tub out back (pool) come summertime!  Fingers are crossed that he shares the same love of the water that his parents do!

I especially love cudlding up in my bath towel!!

Christmas 2011

Wesley's First Christmas
Wesley slept right through his visit with Santa!
Santa Baby!
We spent Wesley's First Christmas with The Marchant Family in Midlothian, VA.  It was our first "road trip" with the little guy and he did very well!  We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night with Mimi and Pops and Wesley was able to meet a lot of his extended family.  While I did not take any photos of my siblings, we spent time with my older brother Quen, his wife Daryl and their sons, Logan and Hayden.  Also, my little brother, Carter and his wife, Betsy with their boys, Preston and Luke.  We missed seeing my sister Clai, her husband Brian and their three, Clare, Ian and Graeme.

One Happy Family!!!

Santa wore me out!

Taking a snooze on Pops!

Cousin Logan (the oldest), taking care of Baby Wesley!

We were fortunate to have a visit with Chris' family in the days just after Christmas.  Dad-Dad (Alex), JJ (Joan) and Cousin Brett made the trip down from PA to spend a couple of days with us and meet the newest member of the family.  I am very upset with myself that I didn't take any photos of their visit but hoping that the professional photographer in the family, Uncle Pat, may have some in his archives that I can have!  The Williamsons joined us the next day-Uncle Pat, Aunt Alexandra and Cousins Holly and Lily.  We had a very nice Christmas celebration although it was a whirlwind visit.  Aunt Vicky and Uncle Johan were planning to come over but unfortunately Vicky was a bit under the weather so Johan was only able to spend a little bit of time with us.  We had a great time seeing everyone and introducing Wesley to all of his Daddy's family!

Out and About

Our First Walk

As you all know, the winter has been unseasonably warm.  We are not complaining as it has given us the chance to get outside for some neighborhood strolls.  This is our first outing.  Wesley is 5 days old!

We Welcome Wesley Bower to the World!

Wesley Bower Johnson
November 22, 2011 at 11:32pm
8lbs, 3oz and 20.5 inches
He was a few days late on arrival but once he decided he was ready to make his entrance, he didn't delay!  He gave Mom a fairly quick labor and delivery and everybody was very happy and healthy, especially Daddy!  (I have never seen Chris so ecstatic!).

Mimi and Pops were the first visitors!  They actually arrived at the hospital around 7pm but were sent home (to our house) because we were told "Baby J" would not make an appearance until about 5am on the 23rd!

Needless to say, they got a phone call around midnight announcing the birth of their 8th grandchild!!!

Graeme being held by big sister, Clare!

Until November 21st, Mimi and Pops had 6 gorgeous grandchildren.  Graeme Larsen Piascik, my sister's third child, was born on November 21st. In true Marchant fashion, two grandchildren in two days!

We were released from the hospital on Thanksgiving Day, more than thankful to have such a beautiful new son to celebrate the holiday.  My parents had stocked our house with groceries so Chris and I had our own "Turkey" dinner.  He managed to fix all of the traditional sides accompanied by a rotisserie chicken!  It was perfect!

Uncle Carter was next to meet Wesley.  He was at a conference in Newport News so we made the trip across the water and through the tunnel to meet him!

We are very lucky to have Chris' sister, Vicky, and her husband, Johan close by in Chesapeake.  They came over for a visit to meet Wesley just days after we got home from the hospital and brought a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and some balloons to help us celebrate.  It will be so nice to have them so close...hopefully we will see them more often.
