3/4 of a YEAR!!!

Celebrating at the Beach!

Wesley turned 9 months old this week!  I will say this is a really fun time.  He is very aware, very fun to be around and happy most of the time.  He is trying to crawl, he is communicating with his arms a bit, learning how powerful his lungs are and letting us know when he doesn't get his way!

We went for his check up on the 22nd and he is doing great.  He is a bit higher on the scale in proportion to his height...our little string bean has become the bean stalk!  His legs are awesome...just makes you want to eat them!  He is not missing any meals, however we are struggling with his reflux again.

The pediatrician put a ban on dairy to see if that helps.  So far, it hasn't.  We can't figure out what is really driving his throwing up episodes and hope that he grows out of it.  If he doesn't by his first birthday, the pediatrician mentioned an endoscopy to see if there are some allergy issues.  Hopefully, we will figure it out by then.

Happy Days!!!

Lazy Sunday...before we headed to the beach!

And We're Off....Sort of!

Still Rolling!

Wesley has been teasing us for about 3 weeks now with his efforts to crawl.  But...we are still not quite there.  The first two photos were just a fun Sunday morning.  We try to put towels or blankets down on the rug to prevent rug burn on his head but it doesn't always work.  You can see it turned it to another thing to play with!

Here I Go!.........

Here is Wesley in action...he tries so hard and has fun doing it, for the most part.  I hear I shouldn't be rushing this because once they are mobile it is a whole different ball game.  But we are excited for another milestone.  We have been to the store once to buy baby gates but came home empty handed...I think we will need them sooner than later!

I can do it...

I know I can do it!

If I concentrate really hard, I can do it!

Okay, so I am on all fours, now what?

Whoa....

Faceplant!!!!!  Thank goodness for the towel...much better than carpet!

I'm Okay...

Pick Me Up, Mommy....

I am having SO much fun!

See, told you I was having FUN!!!!

Sad but True...

I was downloading the photos from the camera to the computer and came across this one.  Too ridiculous not to share.  I have been working in the evening/weekends quite a bit to try to keep up with my job.  We haven't hired for my old job so I am actually doing my new job and the old.  Needless to say, Chris took this photo...I think I had given up and called it a day!  Or maybe this was just Wesley's beverage of choice!

Just a Swingin'

A Diversion...

It is fairly routine that we go for a walk when we all get home during the work week.  Wesley has plenty of stimulation at Mrs. Sheila's and the stroller gives him some downtime.  It is also a nice time for me and Chris to chat and catch up on the day.  More recently we have made some stops at the neighborhood playground so we can interact with Wesley and not just push him around.  He likes the swings a lot especially when he can watch the traffic go by on the street.  He has been cutting teeth left and right which explains his "swing snack".

Cool with a Capital "C"

Cute?

This was one of those "I have to grab the camera" moments.  Damn, this little guy is cute!  And his Daddy is pretty good lookin' too!
I love my shades!!!

My Handsome Boys!

Roman Puker!

Wesley the Emperor

Not sure why I think he looks like a little Roman Emperor, but I do!  This is funny and not funny at the same time.  The reason he is only wearing his bib and the dish towel is because he had just lost his dinner everywhere.  We are re-visiting the Acid Reflux issue that we thought he had grown out of several months ago.  Unfortuantely, we don't know why or when but he is not able to hold down every meal lately.  Well, the when I can limit to the times when I am with him or carrying him.  He has YET to throw up on Chris!  Lucky Dad!

At first we thought it might be certain foods that we were trying but there is no rhyme or reason to his episodes.  It is really horrible when he gets sick and you can only feel sorry for him, but then he will act as if nothing is wrong and carry on like he is here.  I guess it doesn't bother him too much but it is still something we are concerned with.  More to come!

Spending Time with my Grandfather!!!

A Visit from Dad Dad...

Chris' father, Alex, aka "Dad Dad", spent a week with us in August and Wesley thoroughly enjoyed his visit.  He had an extra big smile every time he saw Alex.  We also had the pleasure of having Chris' sister, Vicky, and her husband, Johan over for dinner.  Wesley loves company and this visit was no different...you can see by his smiles below!

(Side note on the last photo...Vicky is a Veterinarian and is always threatening to show up with a puppy!)

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

My Crazy Uncle Johan!
My fun Aunt Vicky!!

I will smile if you bring me a PUPPY!!!

The Cousins are Coming....

I Might be #8 But Don't Count Me Out!

My brother, Carter, his wife, Betsy and boys,  Preston and Luke came for a visit.  Unfortunately, the weather was not great and Wesley's top two teeth were breaking through so he wasn't in great spirits.  We have all decided we need a "do over" but we made the best of it.  We had a great visit despite Wesley's drool and middle of the night episodes.  More time on the beach would have made it a much better visit but it just means they will have to come back to make up for it.

This was not the first time that Wesley has been with his cousins but perhaps the first time that he was able to really interact and understand them.  The photo shoot was hysterical...Wesley was doing his best to hold his own!

Wesley and Uncle Carter!
'

Preston, "He's real and his hair doesn't go down!"   Luke, "Stop touching me, you drool too much!"

Who brought the new kid?  I guess he's OK, we'll keep him!

I'll be your size some day!

And you with the dark hair, who do you belong to?
(Luke is the only grandchild of 8 with dark hair but boy is he handsome!)

My Cousins should visit more often!!!

Can you help a Cousin out?

Mimi and Pops Visit!!

To the Rescue....

As noted in the prior post, I got a promotion at work and it was due to the fact that my manager was retiring.  About 3 months ago I offered to host my office for a "retirement pool party" in her honor.  The date snuck up on me so fast and I was very unprepared.  As a result, my mom and dad were really gracious and came down to help me get ready.  They planted flowers, cleaned windows, hung pictures, cleaned pool furniture, and the list goes on.  Anyway, I would never have been ready without their help and our house looks so great as a result. Here are few photos of the short time that I let them "relax".  The rest of the time they were hard at work!!!!

Note my Dad's shirt...that was his Father's Day present from my sister-in-law and it has all of the G-kids names on it!

Who is going to blink first?

I still haven't blinked...it's Pops' turn!

Just Because...

I Am 8 Months Old...

I have been a little pre-occupied over the past few weeks and have certainly fallen behind on my posts.  The good news is that Mommy got a promotion at work but it was with a lot of angst as I was also being pursued by another company.  Not one to toot my own horn but this was a big deal and it was a tough few weeks as I am not a great decision maker.  Turned out the decision was really made for me by the offer that my current company made...glad to be sticking around at Anthem BC/BS.  I am very glad all of the negotiating is over.  Chris has been an amazing rock through the process;  it started the Friday before Mother's Day so we are all excited that it turned out the way it did and that I don't have to talk his ears off about it anymore.

So...that is my excuse for not posting.  The photos below are really not of anything in particular, just when we have been playing with Wesley and had the "he's so cute, grab the camera" moment.  As his mother, I am allowed to say that...every Mom does, right?

One thing to note is the HAIR!!!  It doesn't go DOWN!  We love it and it is his signature.  We often watch the Food Network Channel and think he could pass for a mini Guy Fieri of "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" fame.  With Chris' cooking, we might just be the next featured 'dive'.  The only time that it is not sticking up is when it is wet.  As soon as it dries...right back in the straight up position.  WE LOVE IT!!!

Love my Daddy...Horsing around is so FUN!!!
