Foodie

A New Fave...

I will be the first to admit that I struggle to find new and exciting foods for Wesley that are also nutritious.  I can't say I meet all of the criteria all of the time or even most of the time but we try.  He is a pretty good eater.  His favorite things are grapes and peas...he could live on them.  Next would be bananas, bread and then COOKIES!  I made the mistake of buying the arrowroot/butter cookies for babies.  He only has to hear the packaging before he smiles ear to ear and starts pointing.  We have decided he takes after his Dad, anything with butter and salt and he is happy.  The cookies aren't all that sweet or I would say he likes junk food...I don't think he is taking after Mommy yet.

In my continuous battle to find something new, healthy and kid-friendly, we offered Wesley baby pasta shells with spaghetti sauce---HUGE HIT!  He couldn't eat them fast enough.  The only problem with Wesley is that as soon as you put something on his plate, he takes his hand, grabs an entire handful and stuffs it ALL into his mouth.  And yes, he does choke a bit and still hasn't learned.  Last night I put a cookie on his tray (the same Arrowroot little baby cookies that every child has with the hole in the middle) and then put them away in the pantry.  In the 2 seconds it took me to turn around he put the ENTIRE cookie in his mouth.  Luckily they melt/dissolve and he just smiles and drools until he can digest it.  Absolutely adorable but boy what a mess!  And no, he didn't love the broccoli...we'll work on that one.

Here is the munchkin piggin' out on pasta!

Second cookie...mommy broke it in quarters this time!

Party Time!

The Season for Birthdays!

We are very fortunate to have Les Bon Enfants to keep our social calendar booked!  Another child from Wesley's daycare had a birthday party!  His friend, Jillian, the same one who "loaned" him the ladybug & ruffle pants turned 2.  She and her brother, Ryland, both go to Mrs. Sheila's for daycare so we were invited to the party and had so much fun!  Wesley is spoiled rotten by his daycare family...Mrs. Sheila and Mr. Jeff, and Kenzie!  We enjoyed a great fall day outside for most of the party and Wesley loved hanging out with his "second family".

My friends are so jealous!

Mr. Jeff, I promise it is delicious!

From Handsome to More Handsome...

My First Haircut!!!

Wesley has some great curls on his little blond head which have started to lay down.  It used to stick straight up but due to the length, it is falling down nicely...and over his ears.  I was very torn about cutting it and I think Daddy would've waited however, I didn't want him to look like a little ragamuffin.  So...we tried to go to "Pigtails and Crewcuts", the nice children's hair salon.  They don't take reservations and when we called to put our name on the wait list it was going to be an hour.  We didn't think our little guy was going to make the wait.  We had to get in a nap before a birthday party so we decided to go where Daddy goes...Great Clips.  We had about a 5 minute wait and they were very nice.  They even had a card and envelope for "baby's first hair-cut" which surprised me but thank goodnes because I was not prepared.  I ended up sitting in the chair with Wesley on my lap and he did great.  The only problem was he was curious and kept looking around which made it hard for the hairdresser.  I was a bit nervous thinking he was going to have a bad run in with the scissors.  We were in and out in no time and while Wesley no longer has curls, he is still adorable!

Handsome and more handsome!!!

Our Little Peanut!

The Planter's Man has a Replacement!!

We weren't sure if we were going to dress Wesley up for his first Halloween.  He is too young for Trick or Treating so I didn't really get too excited about it.  Then he got a birthday invitation to a daycare friend's party where costumes "were encouraged".  So...the brainstorming began.  The first idea was the "gerber baby".  I couldn't figure it out so the next idea (Chris' again) was a "Little Peanut".  He does get called that a bit so it was appopriate.  It is more than obvious but this is a very "homegrown" peanut costume which explains some of the flaws!  I didn't expect it to be warm the day he wore it so I bought a larger size onesie thinking it would fit over other clothes.  That wasn't the case.  Then, I didn't take into account that a person's hips are as wide as their shoulders.  Needless to say we had to do some "destroying/ripping" to get the costume on him.  Of course I didn't measure anything ahead of time!  Then the little flap hanging down...guess I could have trimmed that but whatever.  His little hat was sewn in the car on the way to the party.  It all came together and he got some complements...he was pretty darn cute, too!

I Look Great in Black!

Don't Tell Daddy!

It was one of the colder days that we have had in recent weeks when I picked Wesley up from daycare.  For whatever reason he had not made it through the day with his pants so he was crawling around in just his shirt.  That wasn't a problem until we had to leave and Wesley didn't have any extra clothes in his bin.  So we had to scour the other children's bins and the best thing we could find were his friend, Jillian's lady bug leggings with ruffles!  They were actually really great for crawling around as his regular pants sometimes get in his way.  It wasn't enough to convince Daddy that I should go by him some of his own!

Le Bon Enfants Goes to the Farm

A Field Trip with Mrs. Sheila

Wesley's daycare had their first field trip since Wesley joined.  They went to Hunt Club Farm as it is the perfect place during the Halloween and Fall season. This was Wesley's second visit in a couple of weeks to the farm and he seemed to warm up a bit faster to the animals. He loved being with his friends even if he is the baby!  Mrs. Sheila invited parents to attend and we had a great turnout. We walked from her house to the farm with a couple of wagons and her 4-seater stroller. We were quite a crew! Mrs. Sheila bought pumpkins for all of the kids when they left. What a great afternoon!!!

I am not a step!

Now I am really unhappy...the big boys are holding me by my collar (b/c they were instructed to do so!) but I don't like it!

Who's Number 1?  (I am pointing now!)

What is cuter, the pumpkin or the pumpkin?
